Authors must submit the following documents:

• an anonymised manuscript containing the full text of the article, excluding the author’s name(s), institutional affiliation(s), acknowledgements, ORCID identifiers, funding information, or any other identifying references;
• a separate title page containing:
  • the title of the manuscript,
  • author name(s),
  • institutional affiliation(s),
  • ORCID identifier(s),
  • correspondence email address,
  • and a short biographical note for each author (100–150 words);
• a submission declaration confirming that:
  • the manuscript is original and unpublished,
  • it is not under consideration by another journal or publisher,
  • all authors approve the submission,
  • and the manuscript will not be submitted elsewhere during the review process.

Anonymisation requirements

YRHSS operates a double-anonymised peer-review process. Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts are fully anonymised prior to submission.

The manuscript file must not contain:

• author names,
• institutional affiliations,
• acknowledgements,
• ORCID identifiers,
• funding information,
• or any self-identifying references.

For anonymised self-citations, authors should use third-person citation throughout the manuscript (e.g., “Black and Hart (2015) demonstrated...” rather than “we/the authors demonstrated...”).
Full bibliographic references must nevertheless be included in the reference list to ensure scholarly verification while preserving reviewer anonymity.

Peer-review process

All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment evaluating:

• relevance to the journal’s scope,
• academic quality,
• methodological rigor,
• and compliance with the journal’s submission guidelines.

Manuscripts that successfully pass the preliminary evaluation are submitted to at least two independent reviewers with relevant disciplinary expertise.

YRHSS follows a strict double-anonymised peer-review model in which neither authors nor reviewers are informed of each other’s identities.

Editorial decisions are based exclusively on:

• originality,
• scholarly contribution,
• methodological soundness,
• clarity of argument,
• and relevance to the field.

Possible editorial decisions include:

• Accept;
• Accept with Minor Revisions;
• Revise and Resubmit;
• Reject.

Reviewer reports, comments, and editorial recommendations are communicated to authors following completion of the review process.

Manuscripts returned with a decision of Revise and Resubmit may undergo an additional round of peer review. Failure to comply with revision deadlines, reviewer recommendations, or formatting requirements may result in rejection.

The average review process typically takes between 8 and 12 weeks. Following final acceptance, publication generally occurs within 4 to 6 months, depending on editorial scheduling and production timelines.

Publication ethics and research integrity

YRHSS adheres to the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The journal is committed to:

• academic integrity,
• editorial independence,
• ethical research conduct,
• transparency in scholarly communication,
• and responsible publication practices.

All accepted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening prior to publication.

The journal does not tolerate:

• plagiarism,
• data fabrication or falsification,
• duplicate or redundant publication,
• unethical research practices,
• or inappropriate authorship attribution.

Generative AI tools may be used only for supportive purposes, such as language editing or organisational assistance, and their use must be appropriately disclosed by the authors. AI systems may not be listed as authors or co-authors.

References and citation style

YRHSS uses the APA 7th edition author–date referencing system.

Authors are responsible for ensuring:

• accuracy and completeness of references;
• consistency between in-text citations and the reference list;
• and full compliance with APA 7 formatting guidelines.

All references must appear in alphabetical order at the end of the manuscript.

Submission information

YRHSS accepts manuscript submissions on a rolling basis throughout the year and does not impose fixed submission deadlines.

Manuscripts must be prepared in English and submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) format in accordance with the journal’s formatting, referencing, and ethical requirements.

All correspondence concerning submissions, peer review, revisions, and publication is conducted electronically.
