Call for Papers – Rolling submissions

YRHSS invites submissions of original research in the humanities and social sciences, with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches, methodological innovation, and the impact of digital transformation and artificial intelligence on contemporary scholarship.

The journal publishes theoretically grounded, methodologically rigorous, and analytically substantial contributions that engage critically with current international debates across the humanities and social sciences.

YRHSS welcomes submissions from doctoral candidates, early-career researchers, and recently awarded PhD holders.

Scope of the journal

Submissions are invited in the following areas:

Language and Literature (Philology)

• language and communication in digital contexts;
• literary and cultural studies;
• translation, multilingualism, and discourse analysis;
• digital humanities and AI-assisted textual analysis.

History and Archaeology

• historiography and historical interpretation;
• heritage studies and public history;
• digital reconstruction and archaeological technologies;
• memory, identity, and historical narratives.

Economic Sciences

• economic theory and applied economics;
• digital markets and AI-driven economies;
• social inequality and economic transformation;
• economic communication and narrative analysis.

Religious Studies

• religion and contemporary society;
• philosophy and ethics of religion;
• religion, media, and digital culture;
• interreligious dialogue and cultural interaction.

Interdisciplinary submissions bridging two or more fields are particularly encouraged.

Article categories

Research Articles

Original theoretical, empirical, or mixed-methods studies.

Length: 6,000–8,000 words (including references)

 

Review Articles

Systematic or critical reviews of literature, theories, or methodologies.

Length: 3,000–5,000 words

 

Research Notes / Emerging Research

Shorter contributions presenting innovative ideas, pilot studies, or work in progress.

Length: 3,000–5,000 words

 

Editorial Policy

YRHSS prioritises submissions that:

• are theoretically grounded and methodologically rigorous;
• engage critically with relevant international scholarship;
• demonstrate analytical depth and originality;
• move beyond descriptive approaches;
• and make a clear scholarly contribution to the field.

 

All submissions undergo a double-anonymised peer-review process.

 

Submission requirements

Language: English

File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)

Referencing style: APA 7th edition

Submissions must include:

• an anonymised manuscript;
• a separate title page;
• a submission declaration;
• and a short author bio (100–150 words).

 

Publication ethics

YRHSS adheres to the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

All accepted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening prior to publication.

Generative AI tools may be used only for supportive purposes and must be appropriately disclosed by the authors.
